SNL Is Back

Many people though Saturday Night Live kind of had a few lull years, but I fully believe that it is back and funnier than ever. I'm just cracking up watching some clips from it. Watch and laugh. SNL clips:

I love it when they can't even stop themselves from laughing. Ohh, Debbie Downer.

Ha, I like when the teacher flips out.

And one more because I LOVE Sue.

So good. OH and check out Fuck You, Penguin below.

Fuck You, Penguin

Have you even SEEN Fuck You, Penguin? If not, you better do it, and you better do it now. Fuck You, Penguin might be the best thing since sliced bread, or Youtube. Whoever writes it is like my new hero or something. Just give it a try. Warning: You might get addicted. I hear it's similar to crack.

Lily Allen Covers Womanizer

Lily Allen covers Britney Spears? What? Yes, more news in the Lily Allen world. She's had a big week. Recently Lily covered Britney Spears' 'Womanizer', and I really, really like what she's done with the song. At first hearing of this, I questioned how it would be since 'Womanizer' seems so different from Lily's usual style despite the fact that I do love the song. Either that or I just never would have imagined it. Here's the song:

Apparently this wasn't supposed to be such a big deal, just a little blip on Mark Ronson's radio show, but of COURSE it got spread like wildfire. You can read about the slight ordeal on Lily's blog. It's now even posted on her Myspace page. Check it out and love it.

Lily Allen: 'It's Not Me, It's Not You'

Lilly Allen did it! She made her first video from her upcoming second album 'It's Not Me, It's Not You,' the followup to her superfabulousamazing 2006 album 'Alright, Still.' I for one cannot wait until the album comes out since she's by far one of my favorite artists, and it feels like I've been waiting forever (or for like a yearish). So here it is, Lily Allen's video for 'The Fear':

I pretty much love it because the song is fun; the video is fun. Just fun all around. Pretty colors and dancing. Also, Lily is going to be touring the UK and Ireland (even though I WISH I WISH she was coming to the US. Soon?) in the spring. Anyone want to buy me a plane ticket to Glasgow for her show on March 14th? It's right after my birthday and would be the best birthday present ever. Keep it in mind. Hehe.

Myspace Notes to the BFF, Errr Something Like That

ab3
I like Myspace. Who doesn't? It's a wonderful time killer, place for interesting news and good music, and of course the source for many laughs. Here are my latest Myspace musings. They are also latest correspondences between my friend and I, between Fleas.

My letter to her:

Dear Bridget,

I don't really know how to tell you this, but I'm joining the convent. I think I realized it when your dwarf bit me, when u finally changed ur underwear and I saw you put whipped cream on my boyfriend. I'm sure you're high enough to understand that there is no solution to you being a dumb kid. I'm returning the pictures from Vegas, but I'll keep your collection of butterflies as a memory. You should also know that I told my confession today about the moose poaching and your cucumber-fetishism is weird.

Warm tingly sensations,
Alexis

Her response:

Dear Alexis,

I don't really know how to tell you this, but I'm selling myself for candy. I think I realized it when we skinny dipped in the bath tub, outside your office and I saw you carve your initials into your my little pony collection. I'm sure you're slutty enough to understand that your driving sucks. I'm returning the pictures from vegas, but i'll keep YOUR collection of butterflies as a memory. You should also know that I haven't showered in a month, and I get sick when I think of your feet.

Go Drown Yourself,
Bridget

Annnd I laughed so hard while doing this last night that I cried, literally.

Just in case you think we are very strange people, well I can't really deny it, but that was from a little Myspace Mad-lib type thing. Find it on Myspace and laugh your socks off.

The Next Step for Laptops and PCs, How You Can Enhance Your Computing Experience

optimus_maximus

I know you're sitting there wondering how you can have the latest and greatest in technology for your laptop or pc, and I have a suggestion: the Optimus Maximus Keyboard made by Russian company Art Lebedev. Well maybe you weren't thinking that, but hey, you can think about it now. Yes, for a measly $1,589.99 you can have what could be the coolest thing since sliced bread, but for your laptop/pc. Ok that is a little steep, but check it out.

Perk #1: It has a USB port and an SD Card slot built right in to the keyboard. Major perk #2: The keys are all tiny screens that can actually change depending what you are doing and what you want. You can even program them to do what you like. I like this idea. It opens up even more possibilities. Watch the video on the link to ThinkGreek.com. It just looks like something I want, well when the price tag comes down a bit.

Thank you to Mr. Brian Rosenberg and ThinkGreek.com for letting me in on this new little piece of technology.

Burger King Around the World, Spreading Burger Culture

Burger King actually just impressed me, Burger King. Wow, the things we take for granted. Something so simple as a hamburger. I find this fascinating.

True Blood for the Twilight Fan?

I admit it, I am a huge fan of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series, like I love Twilight. So I've recently heard about this HBO show True Blood and have wondered what the big deal was since from what I had heard, it sounds like a Twilight ripoff. I was skeptical but also very curious. This True Blood thing could actually be good.

Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, I went home to my mother's house to visit with family, eat some great food, be thankful, and of course catch up on all the TV I've been missing since she has way better channels and the best thing ever, On Demand. I love On Demand. When I realized that I had tons of extra time, I decided to give this True Blood business a chance. In one 3 or 4 day span, I managed to watch the first 10 episodes of season one of True Blood.

Ok at first I thought the show was a little ridiculous and over the top, but I stuck to watching it. I really wanted to see what all the hype was. I also couldn't help notice the similarities to Twilight. Both involve vampires trying to live in society on alternatives to human blood. Both have some "good" vampires and some "bad" vampires. Both center around a love story between a human and a vampire. BOTH have a character who can read minds. And both have shape shifter creatures (Sorry if you haven't gotten to that point in either series.) Hearing all of the likenesses made me originally want to hate True Blood for "copying" Twilight.

After actually giving the show a chance though I thought differently. I got over the outrageousness of the first few episodes and as much as I tried to deny it to myself, I was slightly addicted. I had to see the rest of the episodes right away. Despite the likenesses there are way more differences. The show is a completely different take on the vampire genre than the book series. It has a completely different feel. It's scarier, racier.

It might take a little bit to get into, but I would definitely suggest giving this show a try. I can't really describe why or how, but I really do like True Blood. It's become sort of a guilty pleasure that I cannot get enough of. The best way that I've come up to describe it is that True Blood is somewhat like Twilight for adults (even though I am an adult and am so in love with Twilight anyway).
